TFN Text Browser Emulation
|
|
View your Web Page on a Graphical Browser the way it
looks in TFN's Lynx (Text-Only) Browser.
Enter the URL Address for your web page in the space above. You will see
a plain text rendering of your page. Links in the displayed page do not
work, so the image of the page is followed by a clickable table
of working links taken from the page, allowing you to view your other
linked pages as Text.
TFN encourages regular use of this utility to insure a
minimum level of functionality for text-only and vision-disabled browsers.
There are important differences from just turning off graphics in your
graphical browser:
- The display appears in Lynx's fixed-pitch font, with line-wrapping
occuring for an 80 column screen
- The display includes the link numbering used by Lynx, which can
affect the positioning of links
- Images without proper ALT text specified appear as a file name
enclosed in brackets, like they do in Lynx
- You will see how well your 'frames' are rendered by Lynx
This Text Browser Emulator Utility only works for TFN members and domains.
